He moved to Evansville as a young child.
He married the love of his life Catherine Lile in 1960. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this December.
He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Whirlpool after 38 years.
Earnest was a phenomenal husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan who loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and New England Patriots. He was a beloved youth baseball and softball coach for many years. He enjoyed spending his summers at his river camp with his wife and two dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Timmons, his mother Virginia, stepfather Allen Handley, two brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by the love of his life, Catherine. Two wonderful children: daughter Carmen Embrey of Evansville, and son Daniel Timmons (Gloria) of Erie, Colorado. Three amazing grandchildren: Jacob Embrey (Faith Connell) of Evansville, and Marissa and Gabriella Timmons of Erie, Colorado. Sister Maryanne Johnson, five sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. And his best friend Cujo.
The family would like to thank Dr. Edward Fox, the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice, and the many doctors and nurses who helped him along the way. We also want to thank the family and friends who supported us.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, visitation will be for immediate family only. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
