She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. Edie was a longtime hairstylist in Evansville, Terre Haute, and in the state of Washington where she and Phil spent a year while Phil completed his service in the U.S. Army. She came from a bowling background, as her parents were bowlers. She and Phil spent time centered around bowling early in their relationship and in years to follow. Edie made many friends through bowling and served in various officer positions in her league and as a Board Member of the Women’s Bowling Association. She was a very crafty person and enjoyed painting, working with plants and animals, especially her big dog, Mollie, and spent her last working years at Combs Landscape. She also loved boating, camping, fishing, and was an excellent singer and dancer. She loved to cook and take care of her husband and daughters. She and Phil were members of the car club, Mustang Mafia, where she enjoyed sharing time with friends.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Frances (Fekety) Hyatt.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Phillip A. Damm; daughters, Andrea K. Damm of Denver, CO and Alison R. Damm of Evansville; sister, Gerry Lynn of Dawson Springs, KY; brother, John (Helen) Hyatt of Wilmington, NC; sister-in-law, Bonnie Becht of Lexington, KY; and several nieces.
