

He was confirmed and married in Salem Church of Darmstadt.
Ed retired as a carpenter and brick mason. He worked at Alcoa as a supervisor.
He was a member of VFW #114, Eagles #502, Tri-State Sam’s Camping Club, and Darmstadt Retirees. Ed served on the 4-H Center Board, 4-H Council, and served as a
4-H leader for 15 years. Ed and Vera received the 4-H Rural Urban Award. He was an avid Woodworker.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elveria (Kuhlenschmidt) Deutsch; sisters, Wilma and Gladys; and brother, Alvin.
Ed is survived by his children, Warren (Mary Arendt), Barbara (Allen Dickason), Steve (Becky Bumb), Don (the late Karen Godeke), Sharon (John “Jack” Bumb), and Mark (Jennifer Reininga); grandchildren, Eddie, Christine (Scott Broster), Bradley Dickason (Clarissa Malek), Jeffrey Dickason, Michael (Beth Phares), Matthew (Katie Scapin), Nick, Alyse, Erica, Adam Bumb, Amanda; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Vernon Deutsch (Delores) of Fort Wayne.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 2, 2012 at Salem Church of Darmstadt, 14134 Darmstadt Road, officiated by Pastor David Peterson, with burial in Salem’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander North Chapel and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
