Edward F. Frederking

Ed was born in Nashville, IL to Otto and Lydia (Beck) Frederking and graduated from Nashville Community High School in 1953 then went on to the University of Illinois, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1957 and his Master’s degree in 1960. He was stationed in Alaska with the US Army after High School and brought his bride, Beverly June Fox Frederking to Alaska with him, where their son, Scott, was born in 1956.

Ed worked for Arthur Anderson & Co as a CPA in St. Louis, MO then moved to Mt. Vernon, IN where he was the financial Vice President of Morris Trading Corporation for 18 years.

In 1984, he purchased Tri-State Trophies in Evansville where he was actively involved until retirement. He was proud to see his daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Harvey, take over the family business. Ed loved classical music and was an avid golfer with a 7 handicap. He shared his love for golf, history and learning with his son, Scott. When asked what his proudest accomplishment was in his life, he replied with no hesitation, “my family.” He was a dedicated father and grandfather and was delighted by and proud of the character and achievements of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beverly “June” Frederking, his daughter, Lisa Frederking Tanner, his grandchildren, Zakary (Stephanie) Tanner, Spencer (Paige) Tanner, Amanda (Weston) Yeager, and Emma Rose Frederking, great grandchildren Liam Tanner, Remington and Chapel Tanner. Ed is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son and his wife, Scott and Kim Frederking, and son-in-law, Harvey Tanner.

Ed’s Celebration of Life will be held at Alexander West Chapel on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

His ashes will be interred at a later date in Nashville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Southern Indiana Foundation, 8600 University Blvd, Evansville, IN 47712, to the Beverly June Frederking Scholarship Endowment to honor Ed and his generous spirit.

Ed was also a past President of the Board of Lampion Center and long-time supporter, and contributions in his memory may also be made to Lampion Center, 655 S. Hebron, Evansville, IN 47714.
