

She attended T.B. Larimore Business College in Florence, AL. She served in the US Navy during WWII after attending Hunter College in New York, and was later discharged as a 1st Class Yeoman in Norfolk, VA. Edythe retired from the Evansville School Corporation having worked at Wheeler School and in the down town office. She was from a devoted Christian family of ten, all of whom are deceased. She was a member of Washington Ave. Church of Christ.
Edythe was married to Billye R. Bromley for 37 years. He was a WWII Veteran, and then later worked for IBM for 35 years before having to retire due to Amyloidosis, which confined him to a wheelchair for 12 years. He and Edythe lived in several European countries during his employment with IBM where he was a Field Manager. Edythe was a very faithful and caring wife.
Edythe was married in 1997 to Lloyd G. Whipple and they had a very happy life together until his death.
Edythe was preceded in death by her first husband, Billye Bromley in 1991; her second husband, Lloyd Whipple in 2007; nine brothers and sisters; and her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Stephen Rogers, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
