

She was born on March 3, 1930 to the late Henry and Helena Wrage in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Elaine was married to the late Rev. Marvin Marheine for 59 years before his passing in 2008. Together they served churches in Missouri, Kentucky and Indiana (Friedens UCC in Indianapolis and Zoar UCC in Evansville). She returned to Evansville and Zoar Church, as a faithful member, in 2009. Elaine loved doing volunteer work of all kinds, singing in the church choir, teaching Sunday School, gardening, cooking (esp. German fundraising dinners at Brooklawn), traveling, fishing at their Nolin Lake cabin and spending time with her family. In 1986, Elaine earned her Physician's Assistant certification and worked for several doctors’ offices in Louisville. She was active in the Women's Guild, Kentuckiana Women's Association, Brooklawn Auxiliary, Shively Women's Club and the UCC Conference Commission on Lay Life and Work, to name a few.
She is survived by 4 children- Lynn Kron of Lexington, KY, Bruce Marheine of Sullivan, IN, Janet Hettenbach (Dale) of Evansville, IN, Karen Lea (Jim) of Saucier, MS, 10 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. Also surviving are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws, Joan and Ron Gorchels of Oshkosh, WI, Rev Allen and Carol Marheine of Troy, OH, Don and Suzie Marheine of Escondido, CA, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special friend, C.J. Weiting.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice Madison (Earl), her brother, Henry Wrage (Hazel), in-laws, Harvey and Lydia Marheine all of Oshkosh, son-in-law, Alvin Kron, daughter-in-law, Diane Marheine, grandson, Brian Kron, two nieces and a nephew.
A private family service will be held on Sat., Feb. 13 at 1:00 p.m. CST at Zoar United Church of Christ, Evansville, Indiana. Rev. Art Christmas will officiate and the service and will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA.
