Lisa graduated from Central High School in 1978 and attended college at the University of Evansville.
She worked at DiLegge's Restaurant for many years and, after it closed, took a position at Deaconess as a cook and medical secretary. Throughout her working life, Lisa was known for having a sharp, understated wit and a dry sense of humor.
Lisa found genuine joy in simple pleasures and shared moments—board games, bowling, and time spent cooking, studying recipes, and refining the dishes she loved to make. Music was a steady companion, especially Sheryl Crow, John Mellencamp, and Tom Petty. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the Midwest and onto the East Coast, appreciating the change of scenery and the memories made along the way.
Lisa is survived by sister, Dana Burton; brother-in-law, Jim Burton; nephew, Zachary Burton (Melissa Khan); niece, Miranda Burton (James Vollman); great nieces, Lucy and Chloetta Vollman; and many other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh County Humane Society.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
