Elizabeth Clora Thomas Diaz

Elizabeth (Lib) was born in Waverly, Kentucky, on October 30, 1922, to the late Herman and Antha Thomas. Elizabeth was a homemaker and was the happiest when surrounded by her family.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray T. Diaz; brothers, Paul Thomas, David Thomas, and Larry Thomas.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Ramon Diaz, of Louisville, Kentucky; daughter, Mary Beth Izard Kelsh (John), of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter, Nancy Dempsey (Gary), of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Carmen Hurst (Donnie), of Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Joseph Diaz, of Evansville, Indiana, Brooke Hergott, of Chicago, Illinois, Blair Cote, of Prairie Village, Kansas, Jenna Duggan, of Tampa, Florida, Jordan Dempsey, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Molly Biggs, of Brownsburg, Indiana, Tierney Hurst of Lafayette, Indiana; ten great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ruth Walz, Harold Thomas, and Herman Thomas. She also leaves behind special friends and family members, Goldie Brooks and Mary Endicott.

Friends may visit Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:45 AM with a prayer service at 11:45 AM at Alexander North Chapel immediately followed by a 12:30 PM Mass at Holy Redeemer Church, 918 W. Mill Road, Evansville officiated by Father Paul Ferguson. Graveside services will be conducted at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make donations to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Evansville, Indiana, or St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette, Indiana.
