He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and former member of West Side Nut Club.
Ellis was a former owner of Moutoux Furniture. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jim Moutoux.
Ellis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Evelyn Moutoux; son, Larry Moutoux and wife, Bev; grandchildren, Shawn Moutoux and fiancé, Cindy Peerman, Shelley Schmitt and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Austin Moutoux, Danielle Schmitt, and Jessica Schmitt.
Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 11 at Alexander West Chapel.
