Elsie L. Kuester

Elsie L. Kuester, 92, of Evansville, IN, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Heritage Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 2, 1925 to William A. Clarke and Carrie Basham Clarke.
She was a Life Member of Howell United Methodist Church, serving on various committees every year. Elsie worked at the North Main Street A&P Grocery Store (later Wesselman’s) for 30 years. She retired from SWIRCA on April 26, 2018 after 30 years of service. In 1961 she co-founded the Lilly Bowling League for Special Needs. She was a board member of ARC and very active in Special Olympics.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marion Kuester; brother, Gerald Clarke; sisters, Lelia Dick, Audrey Coomer, Marion Causey, and Ellen Luke.
She is survived by her son, Charles Ivan “Sonny” Kuester of Evansville; brother, William E. Clarke of Marion, KY; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 25, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Rev. Kenny Palmer with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 3-8 PM on Thursday and 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
