Emma Fay Steele

Emma Fay Steele, 89, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was born on Tuesday, August 12, 1930 in Henderson, Kentucky to Abner and Bessie (Taylor) Putnam. She retired in 1992 from Bristol Myers after 40 years. Fay enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the paper, and birdwatching. She loved her family, traveling with her husband, and visiting her neighbors. Fay was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, Thomas Steele; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Lana Steele; son, Stephen Steele (Margaret); grandchildren, Jeff and Jay (Jessica) Liberman, Julie Reed, and Denny Cotton, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Putnam; brother-in-law, Jimmy Steele; and sister-in-law, Lucille Feruzzi. A Visitation will be held from Noon until 1 p.m. on Monday, February 17 at Alexander East Chapel. Private entombment will be held at Oak Hill Mausoleum.
