

She retired from Sterling Brewery as a forklift driver. Diana was an avid crafter, loved crocheting, sewing and beadwork. She enjoyed ceramics and previously owned her own ceramics shop. She loved to ride motorcycles. Her family was very important to her.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Mayes; daughter, Terrana Werner; brother, Chester Steinmetz; and sister, Susie Turner.
She is survived by her sons, Rob (Marie) and Tony (Lisa) Mayes; daughter, Ashley Mayes (Ryan Stricklin); 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Lester, Mike and Randy Steinmetz; sister-in-law, Linda Newman-Mayes; son-in-law, Bryan Werner; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Itsy.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mark Lowe, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kodali and the staff at Deaconess VNA Hospice and the nurses at the Chancellor Center for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank the Chemo Buddies that truly blessed her and made her feel more comfortable during her chemo treatments.
