

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Flora Dean Koob, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who blessed her family with 91 years of joy, quick wit, and wisdom before passing peacefully on November 29, surrounded by her loved ones.
Flora was born on June 10, 1933, to Flora (Hammons) Armstrong and Lee Hammons in Hopkinsville, KY.
After retirement, she spent her summers with her family at the Patoka Lake house boating and fishing. Flora was best known for her abilities in the kitchen, passion for the outdoors, and love of IU Basketball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; daughter Karin; and siblings, Lee, Marie, and Lola.
Flora is survived by her children, Kimberly (Dan) Greer, Kristyna Baldwin, and Kyle Koob; Grandchildren, Matt (Kristy) Ayers, J. Ryan (Margaux) Ayers, Sarah Stockwell, Katelyn Stockwell, Savanah Koob, Kylah (Kyle) Koob, Nicole (David) Mattingly; 10 great grandchildren; best friend and sister-in-law, Kay Forbes; sister, Ann (Bud) Sanders; close family friend and mother to three grandchildren, Kimber Martinez; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Envive Healthcare and Heritage Hospice for their compassion shown to Flora during her final weeks with them. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
