Fred was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
He enjoyed travelling, camping, golf, and photography.
He was a member of the Eagles and Germania Maennerchor.
Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean (Tipton) Hammond; daughter, Diana Pfender (Brett); nephew, Ronald Hammond (Barb); niece, LeeAnn; niece, Jeanette Brun; grand niece, Angie Dolan; grand nephews, David and Daniel Hammond; cousin, Chris Stinson; and many other cousins.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Alexander Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, with burial to follow. Friends may visit Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel.
