She grew up in Beals, KY and graduated from high school at Spottsville School, where she met the love of her life, James Wade McGrail. Gail and James Wade married on July 2, 1955 and made a home together in Baskett. Gail combined motherhood of her two sons with an active career as a bookkeeper in Evansville; working first for George Koch and Sons, followed by many years of faithful service to Miller Electroplating and Hazeltine & Shepherd. She retired in 1987 to joyfully become a part-time babysitter and full-time grandmother to her two grandchildren, who knew her as a doting Mommom, always willing to make their favorite treats. Gail was a longtime, faithful member of Baskett Christian Church and served as church treasurer until the age of 86. She was also a talented painter and member of the Rivertown Decorative Painters, where she made many dear friends. Gail was known as a forthright, independent and no-nonsense person who loved her family and friends fiercely. She will be greatly missed and deeply mourned by all.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Jamieson; niece, Tammy Dame; and her husband, James Wade McGrail.
She is survived by her sons, James Wade McGrail, Jr. and Michael Stanley McGrail; daughter-in-law Laura Epperson McGrail; grandson, Matthew Duncan McGrail; granddaughter, Amanda Gail McGrail Kellen, grandson-in-law, Thomas Caleb Kellen; great-grandson, Thomas Noah Kellen; nieces, Melissa Roe (Dan) and Nila Paradowski (Alex) and their children and grandchildren.
