Gareld Burgdorf

Gareld “Jerry” Burgdorf, 80, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL. He was born August 31, 1936, in Evansville, IN to the late Kermit and Alma Burgdorf.

He retired from A&H Truck Lines (now Advanced Truck Lines). Jerry was a member of the American Legion in Mt. Vernon, Eagles Club, Moose Lodge #497 and the Elks. He and his wife, Rita, enjoyed traveling together in their camper throughout the country. After her death, Jerry spent each winter in Florida.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; and sister, Ellen.

He is survived by his son, Rick (Gina) Burgdorf; daughter, Lisa (Larry) Clayton; 6 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 15, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ferd Elfreich, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Monday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
