Gary L Brawner

Gary L. Brawner, 84 , of Evansville passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Linda E White Hospice House in Evansville . He was born January 28,1941 in Pollard, AR to Dozier Brawner and Hazel (Shasteen) Brawner.

He was a District Manager of General Motors Parts. Gary was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church. He was a member of The Warrick Wanderers Camping Club and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Gary would watch the Cardinals baseball games. He was a loyal fan and delighted in celebrating their wins. Gary treasured his kids, grandkids and great grandkids and he enjoyed attending their activities. Gary worked well with his hands, and he enjoyed woodworking. Whenever he created a piece, he loved giving his gifts to his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Dozier Brawner and Hazel (Shasteen) Brawner.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Charlene Brawner; his children, Debra (Marc) Whitfield, Donnie (Chrissy) Brawner, Connie (Curt) Winiger; grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) Whitfield, Ashley Adler (Grady), Jacob (Tabby) Brawner, Josh Brawner, Drew (Taylor) Winiger, Haley (Logan) Worthington, Hannah Winiger (fiancé Dalton Peerman); great grandchildren, Nash and Eleanor Winiger, Elijah Whitfield, Emerson and Ella Adler.

He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Melinda) Brawner; his sister, Denise (Patrick) Mahoney; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Dr, Evansville, IN officiated by Pastor Kenny Armitage. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the cemetery.
