Gary Steven Dorsey

He was an Army veteran who was stationed in Hawaii and Fort Benning, GA, and an active member of the NRA. Gary was employed at George Koch & Sons, Target, Donut Bank, Securitas, and Amazon Warehouse. He was also a school bus driver for 29 years. Gary was a talented artist. He loved reading and watching movies. Family was very important to him, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verna Dorsey; brother, James Dorsey; and great grandson, Zaiden McCallister.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon (Cox) Dorsey; children, Stephanie Nizlak (Bob), Vanessa Dorsey, and Tim Dorsey; grandchildren, Ashley Weyer (Trey), Courtney McCallister, Kiera Huggins, Rae Schultz, Hayley Kinner (Karson), James “JT” Schultz (Abby), John Schultz, and Lila Dorsey; great grandchildren, Kaylee Weyer, Anna-Lee Schultz, Devon Simpson, Jr., and Waylon Schultz; and sisters, Marilyn Gail Brown and Susan Garrett.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
