He was a saxophone player with many local bands and was a member of God's Way Church. He enjoyed taking care of his dogs.
Gary is survived by his wife of two months, Ruby (Rainey) Stephens; son, Gary Stephens; daughters, Candace Broshears and Eugenea White; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and close family friends, Nathan and Tammie Huffman.
Services will be 4:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Stuteville. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
