Marlene and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm also sorry I was unable to attend Monday. Uncle Gene will truly be missed by us. He always made sure we felt like part of the family when we saw him at my stepdad's house and elsewhere. He would do his Donald Duck voice and then proceed to tell us all about his latest gadget or project, sparing none of the specifications. He was completely knowledgeable about just about everything and always fun to talk to.

Gene will be greatly missed!! I always enjoyed hearing him sing, my favorite was Dr. Jesus. He was such a kind, sweet, funny man and always willing to help a person out. I’ll never forget....he overheard me telling someone at church that I was having trouble with my shower, Gene came to me and said, ‘I’ll be over tomorrow evening to fix that shower for ya!” He did, and then played me a song on one of Jim’s guitars. Hey Gene...I’ll see ya later!!! This is not goodbye!!! Give Jim, my dad, and Pastor Ames a hug from me! Love and prayers for Marlene and family.

I’m Wilma’s youngest daughter. Uncle Gene has always held so many fond memories in my heart. He could talk like a duck! What is even cooler then that? I sang and played instruments throughout my school years and Uncle Gene and Aunt Marlene would show up like they was going to some fancy Broadway show flowers and all. I was the envy of my whole class. Later on in life he gave my daughter her very first violin. Last week he attended that daughters wedding reception. I will forever miss Uncle Gene he was a great Uncle. He actually was a great man.

I met Gene through a mutual friend, Jerry Roedel. We would talk about guitars and had a good old time. Over the years I would see Gene and he would always take time to talk to me even though I knew he was busy doing something or going somewhere. Our prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends. Vaya con Dios, mi amigo! Larry and Carolyn Adams
