He worked at Chrysler Corporation for 10 years, and retired from Whirlpool after 29 years. George served in the Army Mash Unit in Korea and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He loved gardening and fishing.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Sohpie and Edward Mangold; brothers, Al Mangold and Edward Mangold; sisters, Alberta Marshall and Loretta Peerman.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Pierce) Mangold; brother, William Mangold; daughter, Joan Schneider; grandchildren, Matthew Schneider and Kaitlin Schneider; and, nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Alexander North Chapel with Pastor Chad Eckels officiating and burial in Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
