George was a truck driver for Sunbeam Bakery until they closed, and then drove various trucking routes as a member of the Teamsters Local 215.
George enjoyed bowling and fishing. He owned race horses and enjoyed visiting Ellis Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty Sanders.
George is survived by his sons, George E. Jr., of Allendale, IL, Ron of Boonville, IN, Larry of Evansville, and Jeff of Kirkwood, MO; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Everett Pagan of Romeo, MI.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 10, 2011, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Terry Flowers, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday, from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
