I will always remember George playing his steel guitars and singing with his beautiful voice. George's strong yet mellow singing voice was a perfect fit for his favorite Ray Price ballads, and then he'd flash a mischievous grin and take off on "Oh, Lord, it's hard to be humble". Everyone who really knew George got a big kick out of that one, and so did he.
I am so grateful to have been a part of George's musical life and so thankful that he played a huge role in mine. He gave me tremendous support and encouragement throughout our fifteen or so years of music making as a trio with Charlie Reynolds and then also with the many members of the New Harmony Artist Guild over the years.
In this time of Covid-19, I am very sorry to miss George's services, but I will always remember our times together, making music 🎶 and loving every minute of it.
My deepest condolences to George and Norma's children and their families.
Thank you, Buddy.
