George was born on October 30, 1942, in Washington, IN. He was the oldest of eight children born to George, Sr. and Valeria Yeager.
George once worked at Sears as an appliance repairmen, and then worked as an over the road truck driver for most of his career. He was a 50-year member of the West Side Nut Club. He was a Master Mason, and a member of the Rio Grande Masonic Lodge #81, Point Isabel Masonic Lodge #33, Tranquility Masonic Lodge #2000, Alamin Shrine of Corpus Cristi, TX, and Tipotex Shrine Club in Brownsville, TX (past president).
He was a veteran of the US Navy.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Valeria Yeager, father, George T. Yeager, Sr. and a sister, Brenda Clark.
George is survived by his son, Mark Alan (Connie) of Cadiz, KY; two granddaughters, Bobbie Jo DeJournett (Mario), Ashley Childress (Courtney); six siblings, James (Jean) Yeager, of Lake Forest, IL, Dianna (Philip) Alvey, of Cadiz, KY, Janice (Daniel) Alvey, of Haubstadt, IN, Carolyn (Donald) Stock of Evansville, IN, Alan (Carol) Yeager, of Evansville, IN, and Gloria Butz, of Mt. Vernon, IN; eight great-grandchildren; and good friend, Alan Schaffstein.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16th from 4 to 7:30 pm at Alexander Funeral Home West, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville. A masonic service will take place at 6:30 pm. Burial will be held on Friday, 2:00 pm EST at St. John Cemetery in Washington IN.
