Georgia "Gegi" Cluck, 63, of Evansville passed away Sunday February 20, 2022. She was born August 21, 1958 in Highland, IL to George and Beatrice Finney. Her father moved the family to Evansville when Georgia was 4 years old to work on the railroad.
She graduated from Central High School and went on to study at the University of Southern Indiana. She was always interested in healthcare with a focus on nursing. She was self-sufficient from an early age, thus she began a 20 year long career with Deaconess Hospital. She worked for fifteen years in the emergency department as an Emergency Service Specialist. She was trained in patient care and truly loved her work. She transferred to Same Day Surgery for two years and was then personally asked by Linda White, CEO of Deaconess, to be on the team to start a drug rehabilitation program. She accepted and helped to open the unit.
Georgia met the love of her life when she was fifteen years old. Michael was seventeen, and a good friend of Georgia's friend who arranged the introduction. They shared the same values and treasured their friendship which bloomed into a very deep love. Georgia and Michael also shared a strong faith and spent many long, happy years together.
Georgia is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Michael Cluck; daughters, Jessica Ivy (Corey) and Rachel Cluck (Bret); grandchildren, Abi Savage, Cameron Ivy, Owen Cooper, and Aadyn Cluck; great- grandchild, Ka’leeya Williams; siblings, Amelia Finney, George Finney, and Shelia Acker; parents, George P. Finney and Beatrice Jesse Finney; and her faithful canine companion, Angel; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
