She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and long-time member of Twelfth Avenue/Westwood Church. She served as a pastor’s wife, church organist, CEF & Sunday School teacher, missionary society member, and prayer warrior.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Pearl Phillips; brother, Ronald Eugene Phillips; half-sister, Audrey Grinestaff; and half-brother, Hudson Phillips.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John O. Sloan; children, Angela Cook (Brian) of Evansville, Renee Heil (Kevin) of Newburgh, and Rodney Sloan (Brandy) of Boonville; grandchildren, Zachary & Brianna Cook; Amy & Matt Heil, and Taryn & Taylor Sloan; sisters-in-law, Carol Phillips and Ruth Deller; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Westwood Church, 121 S. Boehne Camp Road, with Pastors Jack Eberhardt, Dave Teruel, and John Swain officiating. Interment will follow at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit on Monday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
