Glenda Pauline McGinnis

Glenda Pauline McGinnis, age 73, of Evansville, IN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born in Evansville on March 27, 1951, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Lucy (Wilson) Duncan.

Glenda's life was deeply rooted in Evansville, where she cherished her time with family. Her heart was full of joy when she engaged in her favorite pastimes, such as coloring, attending services at Cornerstone Assembly of God, and spending quiet moments on the couch with her husband while watching old westerns and game shows. One of her most treasured memories was witnessing her three sons being baptized on her birthday in 1987.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 52 years, Larry McGinnis, and their children: Carol McGinnis (Aaron), Myrtra Dwyer (Elvin Dwyer), Larry Jr. McGinnis, Thomas "Tommy" McGinnis (Sherry McGinnis), and Jack McGinnis (Jessica McGinnis). Glenda was a proud grandmother to Alisha, Johnathan, Ricardo, Miranda, Kierstan, TJ, Briana, Alexis, Max, Makayla and Eli, and a loving great-grandmother to eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Becky, Anna, and Irene, as well as her sisters-in-law Pat (Butch), Cody, Martha (Tim), Joy (Ron), and Roxanne (Joe), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Zachary Dwyer, granddaughter Lisa McGinnis, mother-in-law Carol Jones, and father-in-law Tom McGinnis.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN.

The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with live-streaming beginning at 12:50 p.m. at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA

The final resting place is in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
