Gordon E. Kennedy

Gordon is survived by daughter, Tina Byrns (Pat); sons, Rick Kennedy (Jamie), James Kennedy; step-children, Tony, Kathy, Robert, and Donny Patrick; grandchildren, Jeremy Bunker, Jamie Kennedy, Jessica Kennedy, DJ Kennedy, Jadon Kennedy; 8 step-grandchildren, Timmy, Becky, Sarah, Adam, Stephanie, Mandy, Rihanna, Drake; brother, Mike Kennedy (Bonnie); sister-in-law, Cathy Kennedy; 4 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-step-grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a hard worker and retired from Lewis Bakery. He always had a helping hand and a big heart. He loved horse races, NASCAR and football. He will be truly missed. He helped raise kids in the neighborhood, James Yates, Tom Brown, and Debbie Brown. He enjoyed playing cards with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Kennedy; step-son, Chuck Patrick; sisters, Odie Harlan, Chris McBride, and brother, Sam Kennedy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Roger Shinnerl and Deaconess Hospice for their wonderful care.

Services will be 11:00AM Monday, August 27, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Paul Sowders, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit, Sunday, August 26, 2012, from 2:00PM until 7:00PM and Monday from 10:00AM until service time at the funeral home.
