Gregory P. Hill

Greg was born August 2nd, 1972, in Columbus, IN, to George Hill and Carol Ramsey. He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School and went on to become a very skilled journeyman with Local 20 Sheet Metal Workers for 36 years. Greg was a devoted father to his children and he cherished the time that he was with them. During their school years he made sure that he attended every sporting event and school function. In doing so, he got to know and love their friends, also. He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, often leaving his children and family doubled over in laughter. He also had an enormous tender heart and cared deeply for his children, grandchildren, son-in-law, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. Anything Greg put his mind to he did really well; from his job, working on vehicles, making updates to and maintaining his home, helping family members with their home repair and maintenance, and anything they needed he readily helped with. He was a "jack of all trades" and he mastered all of them. He was an excellent cook especially his ability to grill and barbeque meat. He enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, hiking in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, nature, hunting, listening to music and watching sports. He loved doing research on movies and music, which often lead family members to lovingly refer to him as "the family encyclopedia."

Greg professed faith in Christ Jesus and was a member at Friendship Southern Baptist Church, in Evansville, IN under the shepherding of Pastor Steven Brown.

Greg is survived by his children, Celeste (Andrew) Cumbee and Dalton Hill; granddaughters, Alaina and Isla Cumbee; parents Carol and Jerry Ramsey; siblings Thomas (Judith) Hill; Robert (Sherri) Hill; Elaine Beliles; Kathleen (Dennis) Hoehn; stepsister, LeeAnne Davidson; stepbrother, Douglas (Erin) Ramsey; and seventeen nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, George R. Hill.

A memorial service in honor of Greg's life will be held at Alexander West Chapel, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Steve Brown. Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Friday, September 25, 2026. Friends and family may visit from 12:00 pm until time of service.
