

H. Daniel Browning, 77, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015, at his home at The Rathbone. He was born October 12, 1938, in Evansville, to the late Howard H. and Ruth (Klusmeier) Browning.
He graduated from F.J. Reitz High School in 1956 and studied at John Heron Art Institute. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and studied at Oxford University in England. He then owned Ye Olde English Inn at Haynie’s Corner, worked at The River House for 15 years, and later worked 15 years as Sous Chef at the Executive Inn. He was a lifelong member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in St. Philips.
Daniel was preceded in death by his half-brother, Arthur Browning; half-sister, Doris (Browning) Wright, brother-in-laws, Clifford “Tip” Trainer and Barry Bristow; and nephew, Kirk Rickard.
He is survived by his sisters, Judy Browning Trainer of Evansville, Sandy Browning (Larry) Weber, of Cadiz, KY, Janice Browning (Dean) Enochs of Evansville; half-sister, Betty Browning Reed of Eldorado, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Eric Robinson. Friends may visit Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
