

Harold W. Chapman, 86, of Evansville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 27, 2014, at his home. He was born June 16, 1927, in Warrick County, IN, to the late Cecil and Dorothy (Hurt) Chapman.
He served in both the Merchant Marines and the Army Engineers Brigade. He was a Millwright at Whirlpool for 42 years and retired on January 1, 1991. After retirement he was active with his real estate investments. He was a member of Lessing Lodge 464 and the Evansville Hadi Shrine. He attended Bethel Temple for many years.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Royalene; son, Roy “Rick” Wayne Chapman; three brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda F. (Thompson) Chapman; son, Mike (Tana) Chapman; step-children, Ronnie (Marcia) Thompson, Larry (Evangeline) Thompson and Sandra Cooper; grandchildren, Holly Chapman, Kara (Jon) Alexander, Chris (Nichole) Chapman, Nick (Deanna) Chapman, Shawn (Jamie) Chapman, Alisa Chapman and Jody (Jessica) Chapman; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Paul of Bayshore, TX; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 31, 2014, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor David Schwambach, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
