Helen F. Carpenter

Helen was a 1955 graduate of Central High School. She retired from Mead Johnson / Bristol Myers Squibb after 40 plus years of service. Helen was loved by all her family, especially her brother, Russell “Buck” Wilhite. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting, cooking, and playing Bingo. Helen loved spending time with all her family at the lake house and going out to eat at the Log Inn and Golden Corral.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Carpenter in 1998; step-son, Steve Carpenter; sister, Mary Meadows, and brothers, Henry Wilhite and Edward Wilhite.

Helen is survived by her brother, Russell “Buck” Wilhite; step-son, Robert Carpenter; step-grandchildren; step-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN, officiated by Pastor Greg Davis, with burial to follow at Alexander Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander East Chapel and on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Vanderburgh Humane Society.
