Helen Marie Thompson

In 1950, she graduated from Central High School where she served as class secretary and was instrumental in their reunion committee. She was a member of First Christian Church for over 30 years and formerly attended Bethany Christian Church. Helen enjoyed quilting and loved making baby quilts for the women’s shelter and the local hospitals to give to the little angels that went to be with the Lord. Helen was also a member of the Raintree Quilters Guild, and enjoyed baking and reading the Bible. She served as secretary for over 25 years at Bosse High School.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, William Thompson; sister, Dorothy Young; and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Terri (Milton) Washington of California, and Mark (Lisa) Thompson; grandchildren, Taylor, Alissa and Halle Washington and Travis Thompson; niece, Gayle (John) Wilkinson; nephews, Rick (Jennifer) and David Young; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2017, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
