Hershel Eugene Caswell, 84, of Evansville passed away Sunday November 21, 2021. He was born November 6, 1937 in Norris City, IL to the late Francis and Flossie Caswell.

He was a US Navy veteran and retired from Alcoa after 38 years of employment. He enjoyed motocross racing with his sons, and served as both their mechanic and number one fan. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals and IU Basketball fan. Hershel loved spending time with his family and being outdoors.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Patricia “Pat” (Wargel) Caswell; sons, Douglas Caswell (Tina), Wayne Caswell (Debbie), Walter Caswell (Stacey); daughter, Barbara Caswell; grandchildren, Tara Englert (Gregory), Megan Caswell, Kaylee Caswell, Dawson Caswell, Chelsea Caswell, Chloe Morgan (Jack), Crewz Caswell, Carly Caswell, Kyle DeTalente (Brandie), Summer Burkhart (Shaun), Autumn Burkhart (Ethan); and great-grandchildren, Charlie, Colt, Bentley, and Makayla.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday November 24, 2021 at 11:00am at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Pastor Ron Kissel. Friends and family may visit Tuesday November 23, 2021 from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
