Hiawatha loved fishing, boxing and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was devoted to his family. Hiawatha was owner/operator of “Hiawatha Handyman” you need it/he would fix it!
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; and sister, Lorraine (Tommy).
Hiawatha is survived by his brother, Walter Barnes; daughter, Tracey Barnes; grandchildren, LaToya Banks (Randy), Tyrone, Marcus, Shiesta, Emanuelle, Shanice, Tyreeke, Marika and Travon; 23 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue on Saturday, February 15, 2025, officiated by the family, with burial in Locust Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
