He retired from his career in construction as a laborer. Houston was a devoted father and enjoyed baseball, especially the Dodgers, and was a football and basketball fan. He loved fishing, including sport fishing, and was passionate about music and loved to sing.
Houston was preceded in death by his son, Toray Tapp; sisters, Barbara Tapp-Rankin and Dolores Tapp; and special niece, Carmen Rankin.
He is survived by his sons, Davon Tapp, Remar Tapp (Rena), Ormando Tapp, and Katawn Tapp; daughter, Mary Tapp; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Dolphine Tapp-Shanklin; and several nieces and nephews.
A private Memorial Service will be held. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
