

Ina Mae Lathom, 90, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1926, in Madisonville, KY to the late Robert Sydney and Alma Jane (Hawkins) Todd.
She was employed at the Evansville State Hospital for 39 years. She was the founder and CEO of the Phantom Theater Haunted House, where all the proceeds went to help the patients at the State Hospital. She was also AFSCME Union President, editor of the hospital newspaper, print shop and switchboard operator, and the canteen manager for many years at the hospital. Ina Mae enjoyed writing poems and working word puzzles. She loved her grandchildren, touched many hearts, and was such a loving, caring person.
Ina Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Lathom.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Brown of Newburgh, Bea (Glenn) Nurrenbern, Roger Downing, Karen (Brian) Mackey, all of Evansville, and Lisa Hoon of Newburgh; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruby (Dean) Abney of Newburgh, Barbara Massey, and Virginia Payne, both of Evansville.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Chet Todd, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
