Jack W. Jackson, 86, of Evansville, IN passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1935 to the late Lawrence and Cammie Jackson.
Jack was a proud 1953 graduate of Reitz High School and cherished his classmates and friends. He retired from Whirlpool as Quality Control Engineer in 1996. He was an avid fan of Reitz football, Cardinal’s baseball, IU basketball and football. He enjoyed trips to the casino and loved golfing. He had been a long-time member of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail (Jerry) Barning and Phyllis Smith.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara (Zalatoris) Jackson; daughters, Karen (Darrin) Maxey, Kathy (Rick) Decker, Julie Jackson; grandchildren, Kristie Byrns, Kacy (Jodi) Byrns, Emily Decker, Sara (Brandon) Schutte; great grandchildren, Kassandra Goebel, Cameron Decker, Katelyn and Elijah Byrns, Kaylee Schutte; brother, Lawrence Jackson (Reno); sister, Judy (Ron) Wood; several nieces and nephews, and long-time friend Jim (Sue) Wall.
A prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Father Ted Tempel with entombment to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
