

Jackie S. (Fry) Hammer of Evansville, Indiana left this life on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 69 at home. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jackie was born December 22, 1954 in Evansville, but grew up in Poseyville, Indiana. She graduated from North Posey High School in 1972 and attended the University of Southern Indiana for three years prior to marriage. Jackie then worked for a few years as a bookkeeper before becoming a fulltime mom until her girls were well into their school years. She then worked in the office of Knight Township Assessors and then for many years in the family business as account and Office Manager at Hammer Industries, Inc.
Jackie’s life revolved around her family. She was at every game, practice, recital and activity to watch and encourage her loved ones. She also loved to work in the yard and collect Santa Claus figurines and memorabilia. Jackie was active in St. Paul’s UCC church through singing in the choir, as youth fellowship leader and many other church activities.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Alice Fry; sisters, Judy Brandenstein and Linda Hancock; brother, Roger Fry; and granddaughter, Bayleigh Pauckner.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gregory Hammer; two daughters, Jennifer Hammer and Kristen Hammer; grandsons, Gabriel and Ethan Paukner; granddaughters, Alyssa and Aubrie Futrell; great-granddaughter, Lakelynn Simms; and a niece and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jackie’s name to St. Paul’s UCC.
Friends may visit from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Alexander Memorial Park, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. following the visitation at the Cemetery.
