He lived in Evansville until he was ten years old. The family then moved to Boonville. Jim lived next door to his childhood home his entire life. He was a kind and caring person with many friends. Jim wanted his friends to remember him for the man he was. He was a great bass player, for him playing was as natural as breathing. Jim performed in many local bands. Jim was also co-owner of Boonville Family Eye Care. His brother and sisters had the privilege of caring for him and easing his pain on his journey.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edna Brinkley.
He is survived by his siblings, Kathy (Warren) Lee, Kenneth (Nola) Brinkley, Patty (Jeff) Powers and Lisa (Enoch) Carlson; nieces and nephews, Todd, Crissy, Jeff, Jessica, Enoch, Broc, Brittany, Jamie, Erich and Joshua.
The family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice for the care they gave Jim and the guidance they provided for the family.
