

He was a truck driver for many years, and drove for Alabama Highway Express, Boetticher and Kellogg, McClean, A+H and Carolina Freight. Jim was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marjorie Rose Crandell; granddaughter, Melanie R. Sturm; sister, Beverly; and brothers, Bill and Bruce.
He is survived by his children, Glenda Dosher, William (Vicki) Crandell, Charles “Chuck” (Kathy) Crandell and Marcia (Ronald) Sturm; sisters, Pat, Sharon, Garnet and Lois; and several nieces and nephews. His greatest blessing was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mark Lowe, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Merral Lewis and his caregivers and friends that live at Park Terrace Village.
