He was affectionately known by those closest to him as Jimmy, Grampy, Jim, Jamie and Uncle Hoho. He graduated from Central High School in 1956 followed by proud service in the U.S. Navy. After a loyal 30 year career, he retired from Mead Johnson. As an avid woodworker, Jimmy excelled at his craft and the passion was evident in all he produced, whether building beloved heirloom furniture for family and friends, to his work displayed at the Evansville Railroad Museum. He also enjoyed camping and traveling in his R.V. while making new friends, and belonged to a tight knit local card club with his most enduring friends. Always the life of the party, Jimmy loved family gatherings, particularly times spent with his children and grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Faynetta Prince and Rosemary Loesch; and brothers, Johnny Loesch and Thomas Loesch.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorris (Taylor) Loesch; children, Dana (Mark) Scarafia, James “Jay” (Renae) Loesch and Pamela Carson; grandchildren, Cory (Sara) Scarafia, Clay (Carrie) Scarafia, Jamia Carson, Amy Carson and Jason Loesch; great-grandchildren, Noah and Zane Scarafia; sister, June Clark; brother, Daniel Loesch; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.
