James "Jimbo" D. Ogura

He was an avid Nascar fan, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr., enjoyed playing golf, working in his shed with his dogs, and working on projects around the house. Jimbo served in the US Army and recently retired from Bootz Manufacturing after 54 years. He loved spending time with his family and adored his grandbabies.

Jimbo was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Ogura and Gary Ogura; and brother in law, Larry Paul.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Brown) Ogura; daughters, Susan Ogura (Tormarr) and Krista Ogura; step daughters, Nicki Stremming (Eric) and Ashley Ogg (Nick); grandchildren, Trevor, Trinity, Phoenix, Kierra, Joseph, Michael, Mason, and Londyn; great grandchildren, Lee and Theo; sister, Sue Ogura Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd. Evansville, IN, where military honors will be conducted by the Retired Veterans Memorial Club. Friends and family may visit from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 and from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
