Janice "Jan" Louise Castiller

Janice “Jan” Louise Castiller, 75, of Evansville, IN passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at home. She was born on May 14, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Charles T. and Doris L. (Ripley) Pfeiffer.

Jan retired from St. Mary’s Medical Center after 40 years of service, most recently working for Dr. Mark Morrison. She volunteered with many local fundraisers and was especially active in the Heritage Golf Tournament, Cornette Ball and Ascension Foundation. Jan’s entrepreneurial spirit shined through at high school and church craft fairs. She loved working in the yard and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Castiller; daughter, Shari Gesser; grandchildren; Bethany Grace Castiller and Samantha Marie Castiller, and their mother Simone DeMass; Edward Joseph “EJ” Gesser, Alex James Gesser, and their father, Joseph Gesser; brothers, Charlie Pfeiffer (Kay), Don Pfeiffer (Patti), and Mark Pfeiffer (Michelle); sisters, Dody Granim and Mary Laidley (Ed); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN with Pastor Bill Altman officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from Noon until service time at the funeral home.
