Janice K. (Wissner) Kissinger, 80, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born June 30, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Gus and Emma (Winiger) Wissner.

She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved us with all her heart as we loved her.

Janice was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord. An important part of Jan's life was to study and teach the Bible using Precept Ministries Bible studies which are designed so that anyone can discover for themselves God's truth and then apply it to their life. She taught Sunday school for 25 years and was a devoted Christian. She was President of the Pink Ladies at Deaconess Hospital and a member of the Outboard Boating Club and the Evansville Ski Club. Besides living in Evansville, Janice also lived in Naples, Fl. from 2003-Febuary 2017. She loved her family and grandchildren. Janice was ill for many years and was a cancer survivor.

Janice was preceded in death by her brother, John Wissner.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jack Kissinger; daughters, Diane Gordon (Jeff) of West Chester, PA and Julie Benning (Bill) of West Chester, OH; grandchildren, Amanda Gordon, Jonathon Gordon, Nathan Benning and Trevor Benning; sister, Gail Reiter (Steve) of Cadiz, KY and sister-in-law, Maridawn Wissner Dull.

Dear Jack,

Sue just e-mailed the news of Janice's passing. I am so sorry for your loss. Her strength in battling her medical issues over the years was amazing to see. She was a fighter and wanted to be with you and the family as long as possible. The next yr. will be difficult for you and I hope your family and friends will be there for you like they were for me.

What a beautiful picture and just the way I remember Jan. We had very special memories of boating, families, and working together. She was a wonderful friend.

Jack, Diane, Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't realize she had suffered for that many years. She is surely in God's loving grace now.

My heart is heavy! Much love to all of you.
