It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott Hatfield, 58, who left this world on January 7, 2025. Born on June 20, 1966, Jeffrey lived a life full of love, hard work, and service. He attended Reitz High School where he played football and wrestled.
A proud Marine, Jeff loved military life and his opportunity to serve God and his country.
Jeff found joy in the great outdoors, where he could often be found hunting, fishing, or exploring trails on his side-by-side. He was happiest while riding his Harley or in the woods deer hunting, surrounded by nature. He was also a passionate sports fan, cheering for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts. In addition, he enjoyed all motor sports, but especially attending races at Tri-State Speedway.
Known for his tireless work ethic, both on his job as a trucker and as a friend, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Jeff had a deep and abiding love for his dogs, who were his constant companions and brought him immense joy. They held a special place in his heart and were cherished members of his family.
Jeff is survived by his son, Zachary Hatfield (Meagan), who carries forward his father’s legacy of kindness, strength, and love; father, Terry Hatfield; mother, Linda Nelson; step-mother, Janet Hatfield; sisters, Sarah Hatfield and Stephanie Hatfield; a brother, Nick Hatfield (Shannon); and a niece, Cora.
Jeff's presence will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
A memorial celebration will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois St., Evansville. Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
