Jeff was an honest and hardworking man who contributed to the Evansville housing community as owner of Scott Construction for over 40 years. He most notably is remembered for his love of family and friends which he demonstrated not with eloquent words, but by his actions. He worked all his life building, fixing, and creating things with his hands. As his daughters would say, “My Daddy can fix anything.” All he needed was his truck, sometimes a little duct tape, and a strong command of a few select words.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Scott, sister Shelley (Scott) Bock, and mother- and father-in-law, Judy and Reggie Champlain.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Michele (Champlain) Scott; daughters, Amanda Shelby (Dan) and Alicia Scott-Aune (Josh); and mother, Mabel (Mosby) Scott. He was affectionately known as Poopaw by his grandchildren, Julia, Edwin, and Augusta (the worm) Shelby. He is also survived by his brother Mark Scott; sisters, Tamara Scott and Beth (Scott) Sharp (Phil); nieces and nephews; and his beloved Great Dane, Dotzi.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday June 20, 2019, at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Father Ted Tempel. Friends may visit 10 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and because of Michele’s love for flowers and plants, we request you send flowers to someone you love for them to enjoy now, use your talents to assist or fix something for someone you love, or make a donation to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
