He graduated from Reitz High School in 1956. He worked for Deig Brothers and was a member of Local 90 Carpenters and Local 181 Operators. He was a member of Constellation Masonic Lodge #748 and Hadi Temple, both for 50 years, and a Charter member of Motor Corp. He also belonged to the Select 34th Group and the Royal Order of Jesters. Jerry was a member of No Ruz Grotto, Elks Henderson Lodge #206, and was a past worthy patron of Poseyville Eastern Star #394 and a life member of Riverbend.
Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Carr.
He is survived by his daughter, Jan (Carr) Allan Grigsby; grandchildren, Briana (Justin) Scott and Briley and Brennan Carr; great-grandchildren, Alisha, Bryan and Caylen Scott; daughter-in-law, Bridgette Carr; and his best friend and loyal companion, dog BB.
A Celebration of Life service was held 5:30 PM Thursday, October 29, 2015, at River Bend Association, 2207 W. Franklin St., Evansville, IN 47712. Friends visited Thursday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel.
