Jess “Bud” Wright, 78, of Richland, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. Jess was born in Evansville, Indiana, to Jess F., Sr. and Iva (Cox) Wright on January 2, 1940.
Jess retired from Alcoa after 28 years. He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1959. He was very active and always on the go. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sports. Jess adored his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Mendenhall; and infant son, Bryan Carl Wright.
Jess is survived by his wife of 59 years, Karlon Ann Wright of Richland, IN; son, Jess D. Wright (Karen) of Hatfield, IN; and daughter, Shannon Sturgill (Tim) of Boonville, IN; grandchildren, Whitney Paxson (Kris), Ramsey Wright, Jesse Bass, McKenzie Martin and Rosalie Sturgill; great grandchildren, Georgia and Caroline Paxson; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Raymond Abbott, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
