

She was proceeded in death by her husband, John Turner, her mother, Mable Gladys Williams Ray and her father, Joseph Lee Ray, as well as several nephews.
She is survived by: two nieces, Shirley (Donnie) Weinzapfel of Evansville, IN and Dr. Miriam Finegold-Price of Mary Lake, FL; three nephews, Paul Turner, Jr. of Hammond, IN, Frank Thomas “Tommy” (Lisa) Turner of Green Cove Spring, FL and Charles Jerry (Jeanette) Turner, Sr. of Hammond, IN; many great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews and close friends.
Jo Anna was a strong, efficient woman; “In charge” until the last day. She was employed by Whirlpool in Evansville for years, where she was greatly respected. There, she took shorthand as their secretary and worked on the line, leading 80-90 people in the manufacturing of ice machines. Jo Anna attended Lady Lake United Methodist Church in FL.
Aunt Jo loved: Uncle John, JJ (her cat), Peter (who cared for her the last several years), the Lord and all of us! She held a special place in her heart for Candice Joanne (her namesake).
Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM CST on 8/31/22 at Alexander Funeral Home-West Chapel (2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN 47712 (812) 423-4477) officiated by Reverend Clara J. DeBose, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CST on Wednesday at the funeral home.
